Build Your Rapids Water Park Day Before You Hit the Slides
Rapids Water Park is a large outdoor water park near West Palm Beach with 40+ slides and attractions across 35+ acres. The part families need to plan carefully is not simply which slide looks best: tickets, children’s heights, parking, lockers, cashless payment and Florida weather can all change the practical cost and experience.
Rapids Water Park: Quick Answer for 2026
What is it?
A large outdoor Florida water park with thrill slides, family raft rides, a wave pool, lazy river, FlowRider and children’s water-play areas.
Big family check
Do not buy based only on age. Many major attractions use 36, 42 or 48-inch height requirements and some also impose rider or tube weight limits.
Big Florida check
Rain does not automatically close Rapids, but lightning and severe weather can stop water attractions. Read the Sunshine Guarantee before travelling.
2026 Rapids Water Park Tickets: Which One Makes Sense?
Ticket products are not interchangeable. Rapids uses date-dependent pricing, and its current ticket pages can change as the season progresses. The figures below were checked against the park’s published pages on September 2, 2026.
Pick Your Day
Best when your date is fixed and you want the lowest advertised daily price.
- All-day admission for selected date
- Price varies by date and availability
- Selected date cannot be changed under the published product terms
- Not valid for special, after-hours or private events
Coca-Cola Refresh
Useful if you need flexibility rather than locking yourself to one selected operating date.
- One visit during a public 2026 operating day
- Includes limited-edition souvenir cup
- First fill included
- Not an after-hours event ticket
Groups 15–49
Check this before buying separate tickets if your qualifying group contains at least 15 people.
- Weekday and Any Day choices may be available
- Meal-and-drink bundles are offered
- Larger groups have a separate route

Measure Children Before Buying: 36″, 42″ and 48″ Matter
One of the biggest planning differences between Rapids and a simple swimming pool is that access changes from attraction to attraction. A child who can use one family slide may still be too short for several headline thrill rides.
Lazy River
A milder option without a published minimum-height requirement. Follow on-site supervision and attraction rules.
Riptide Raftin’
Minimum 36 inches. Riders from 36–47 inches must ride with an adult; 48 inches is required to ride unaccompanied.
Mega Mayhem
42 inches to ride with an adult and 48 inches to ride unaccompanied. Tube weight restrictions also apply.
Brain Drain
A 48-inch minimum applies, with a published maximum rider weight of 300 lb.
Other 36″ examples
Body Blasters and Splash Hill publish a 36-inch minimum. Barefootin Bay also publishes a 36-inch requirement for the relevant attraction.
Other 42″ examples
Big Red, Rapids Racer and Tubin Tornadoes publish 42-inch minimums. FlowRider requires 42 inches to bodyboard and the ability to swim in fast-moving turbulent water.
Other 48″ examples
Baby Blue, Big Thunder, Black Thunder, Pirate Plunge and Raging Rapids publish 48-inch minimums.
No single height solves everything
Some attractions also use maximum individual or combined tube weights. Posted attraction instructions and park staff control access on the day.
Check the official ride-restriction list immediately before buying if specific slides are the main reason for your visit.
What Will a Rapids Day Really Cost?
The headline admission price is only one part of the budget. Parking is a normal extra for drivers, while lockers, food, cabanas and retail purchases depend on how you plan the day.
Published planning costs
Example: family of four
If four guests each find a $44.99 Pick Your Day ticket, the admission subtotal is $179.96 before applicable taxes/fees.
Add $20 general parking and a $30 large locker and the planning subtotal becomes $229.96 before applicable ticket taxes/processing fees, food or optional extras.
This is an example, not a guaranteed checkout total. Date-dependent ticket prices can be higher.
Cabanas and Reserved Shade: Useful, but Admission Is Separate
A cabana can make sense for a larger family that wants a fixed shaded base, but it is a substantial optional upgrade rather than part of normal admission.
Sunbrella rental
The park currently advertises a smaller shaded option for up to two adults and two small children near Bare Footin’ Bay.
Standard cabana
Published capacity is up to six guests, with shaded seating, secure storage, bottled water and food-and-beverage service among the listed features.
Important booking rule
Cabana or Sunbrella rental does not include water-park admission. Every guest still needs valid admission or a qualifying pass.
Rules That Can Catch Families Out at the Gate
Outside food
Coolers and outside food or beverages generally cannot enter the park. Current rules allow one water bottle per customer and infant food in non-glass containers.
Bag checks
Guests are subject to bag inspection and electronic detection before entry. Pack with the official prohibited-item rules in mind.
Cashless payment
Credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments are accepted. Cash-to-card kiosks provide an option for visitors who arrive with cash.
Swimwear
Appropriate swimwear is required. Hard or sharp materials can create ride restrictions, and denim shorts are listed as inappropriate for slides.
Goggles
Swim masks and goggles are allowed in pools but not on slides or the FlowRider under the park’s current FAQ.
GoPro use
The park FAQ permits GoPros in the Lazy River and Wave Pool but not on other rides.
Florida Rain Does Not Automatically Mean a Refund
Rapids says attractions remain open in rain when conditions allow. Lightning or severe weather can require guests to leave the water temporarily.
Sunshine Ticket trigger
The published policy says a Sunshine Ticket may be issued when weather causes all rides to close continuously for two hours, or ride operation is suspended three times during the visit, subject to the full conditions.
You need proof
Eligible guests leaving for the day must present their ticket stub, receipt or online proof of purchase at the Front Gate office as they exit.
Important exclusions
Season Pass holders and complimentary-ticket guests are not eligible under the published Sunshine Ticket terms.
Extras are different
The published policy states no cash refunds and no refunds for parking or locker rentals because of qualifying weather.
Is Rapids Water Park Right for Your Family?
Strong fit if…
- Your group wants a full outdoor water-park day.
- Older children or teens meet the heights for the major thrill rides.
- You want a mix of thrill slides and calmer options.
- A wave pool, lazy river and raft rides help mixed interests.
- You are comfortable planning around Florida weather.
Check carefully if…
- Several children are below 42 or 48 inches.
- You specifically need a heated-water experience; Rapids says its water is not heated.
- You need detailed physical-access information that is not clearly confirmed online.
- Your budget is based only on the admission price.
- Your schedule cannot tolerate a weather interruption.
Accessibility and Additional Needs: Confirm the Exact Requirement
Ride access depends on the individual attraction and a visitor’s ability to meet its operating requirements. Rapids specifically publishes conditions for guests using prosthetic devices: riders must be able to enter and exit safely, assume the required riding position and ensure the prosthetic does not create a hazard.
Exposed metal on a prosthetic must be covered with padded material under the published policy. The park also advises visitors with questions about whether a particular attraction is appropriate to ask staff.

Check official Rapids directions before setting off, particularly if your navigation app places the entrance on the wrong side of the property.

Use this as a practical preparation list rather than a replacement for the park’s current rules.
Five Mistakes Most Worth Avoiding
1. Buying before measuring
A child being old enough to enter does not mean they meet the height requirement for the slides they want.
2. Trusting a coupon website
Rapids itself warns that third-party tickets may be invalid and that coupon sites can show incorrect promo information.
3. Forgetting parking
A low advertised ticket price does not include the normal parking cost for a driving family.
4. Packing a family cooler
Outside food, beverages and coolers are generally prohibited inside, with limited published exceptions.
5. Assuming rain means refund
The Sunshine Guarantee uses specific operational conditions. A wet forecast alone does not create an automatic refund.
Bonus: wrong entrance
Save the official note that the guest entrance is on the south side of the parking lot at Port West Blvd.
