Get From Your Disney Hotel or Car to the Right Water Park Without Wasting the Morning
Walt Disney World has two water parks: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. Your first decision is not which slide looks best. Check which park is operating on your date, then match your ticket, resort benefit and transport route.
Standard parking at both Disney water parks is complimentary. However, Disney Resort transport can involve different routes, so check the current journey before leaving your hotel.
Disney World Water Parks 2026: What Should You Check First?
Check Disney’s calendar before anything else. Water parks can be affected by seasonal operation, refurbishment, capacity, weather and special events.
As of this September 2026 review, Disney’s water-park page says Typhoon Lagoon is temporarily closed and directs guests towards Blizzard Beach. That status can change, so use the live calendar for your actual visit date.
Once you know the open park, check whether you need a separate water-park ticket or already have access through an eligible ticket or Disney Resort benefit.
Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?
If both parks are available, choose by the experience your family wants. If only one is operating, the calendar makes the decision for you.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Choose Typhoon Lagoon when tropical storm theming, a beach atmosphere, Surf Pool and a relaxed lazy-river day matter most.
Families should still check individual attraction restrictions and current operating status before promising a particular ride.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Choose Blizzard Beach for its melting ski-resort theme and stronger mountain-slide identity. Summit Plummet is one of its best-known thrill attractions.
It also has family and younger-child areas, so it is not only a thrill park.
Choose Your Disney Water Park Access Before Paying
| Access route | Useful for | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Day Water Park Ticket | A dedicated water-park day. | Disney currently lists $74 adult and $68 child ages 3–9. Check tax and live terms. |
| Blockout-date ticket | Visitors with a qualifying date. | Check the current blockout calendar before choosing the cheaper product. |
| Park Hopper Plus | Theme-park holidays that will use extra water-park or sports visits. | Do not confuse ordinary Park Hopper with Park Hopper Plus. |
| Water Park and Sports | Trips combining theme parks with water parks or listed sports activities. | Check how many visits you will genuinely use. |
| Eligible Resort benefit | Registered guests with qualifying 2026 Disney Resort arrivals. | It applies on check-in day only during the published benefit window. |

Which park?
Use the Disney water park that is open and available on your qualifying date.
Disney Water Park Transport: Build the Route Before Leaving
Water-park transport does not always work like a direct theme-park bus. Routes can vary by resort and operating period.
Use Disney’s live calendar.
Confirm the current resort transport route.
Do not assume every resort has a direct bus.
Check how you will get back before swimming.
Changing and collecting bags takes time.
Disney Resort bus
Check the My Disney Experience app, resort signs or a Cast Member before departure. Routing can change.
Rental car
Driving is straightforward for families who already have a car because standard parking at both Disney water parks is complimentary.
Rideshare
Confirm the exact water park before requesting the ride. “Disney water park” is not specific enough when two separate destinations exist.
Is Parking Free at Disney World Water Parks?
Yes. Walt Disney World’s official parking information states that standard parking at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach is complimentary for all guests.
This is an important difference when comparing Disney with other Orlando water parks. However, free parking does not mean you should skip the operating-calendar check.

Locker, Cooler and Swimwear Checks Before You Travel
Lockers
Disney lists keyless water-park lockers. The checked pricing is $10 per day for a standard locker and $15 for a large locker, subject to availability.
Coolers
Coolers may be inspected. Disney prohibits loose ice, dry ice, glass and alcoholic drinks. Reusable ice packs are acceptable.
Life jackets
Complimentary life jackets are available. They do not replace active supervision of children or weaker swimmers.
Swimwear
Wear family-appropriate swimwear. Avoid exposed metal, buckles, rivets or other sharp fittings on attractions.
Young children
Disney requires diaper-age children to wear plastic pants or swim diapers in pool areas.
Dry clothes
Pack a light dry outfit for the journey back. This is particularly useful if you have dinner or another activity after swimming.
A Straightforward Disney Water Park Day Plan
Check calendar and weather.
Confirm ticket and route.
Choose locker and meeting point.
Do priority attractions before wandering.
Change, collect bags and check return transport.
This sequence is a planning method, not an official Disney touring plan. Queue conditions, weather and attraction availability change during the day.

Disney water parks are weather-sensitive. A park can also be affected by seasonal operation, capacity, refurbishment or special events.
Check the calendar the evening before your visit. Then check it again in the morning, especially when storms are forecast.
